DESSY Creative Formats and Specifications
Reference guide for advertisers, agencies and partners — Digital East GmbH
Version: v2609 | Effective: 1 September 2026
Overview
DESSY supports a broad range of creative formats across display, video, audio and native advertising. The platform accommodates both direct asset uploads and third-party ad serving technologies, giving advertisers of any size room to work.
Status of this guide
This guide is reference documentation. It is not part of the Master Services Agreement and creates no contractual obligation. Supported formats, dimensions, technical specifications, integrations, review processes and feature availability may change at any time without notice, and the DESSY platform interface should always be treated as the authoritative source for current requirements.
What may be advertised, how an advertisement must behave and what the compliance rules are is governed by the Platform Policies, not by this guide. See “Where the rules are” at the end.

Tracking and measurement
- Third-party impression and click trackers are supported.
- Tracking URLs must use HTTPS.
- Third-party trackers may be used for impression and click measurement only. Undeclared third-party tags and pixels inside a creative are prohibited under section 2 of the Creative Guidelines.
Security requirements
- All creatives, landing pages and tracking URLs must use HTTPS. This is a requirement of the Creative Guidelines, not only a technical preference.
- Non-secure assets are rejected during review.
Creative review and approval
A creative passes through two stages before it can run: internal review, then third-party scanning. They are sequential, so the total lead time is longer than the review figure alone.
| Stage | Uploaded assets | Tag-based creatives |
|---|---|---|
| Internal review | Within 3 hours | Up to 24 hours |
| Third-party scanning before go-live | Up to 48 hours | Up to 48 hours |
| Total before the creative can run | Up to 2 business days | Up to 3 business days |
| Once live | Scanned every hour | Scanned every hour |
Plan on delivering uploaded assets at least two business days before the flight start date, and tag-based creatives at least three. Creatives delivered later move the start date; the scanning window is not shortened.
These are standard timings rather than guarantees. A creative may clear sooner, something that needs investigating takes longer, and a creative that is rejected and resubmitted starts the sequence again.
Creatives are commonly rejected for invalid landing pages, unsupported formats, non-secure assets and non-compliant implementations. Scanning is described in the Anti-Malvertising Policy.
Additional capabilities
- Bulk creative uploads are supported.
- Creatives can be assigned to multiple campaigns.
- Creative previews are available before approval.
- Limited Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) support is available. Its availability for EEA and UK inventory is subject to the targeting rules in section 4 of the Platform Acceptable Use Policy.
